Shepreth has a wildlife park. Beat that other villages. Linton may have a zoo, but it most certainly doesn’t have a mainline railway station (Kings Cross and Cambridge), or a swimming pool specialist or a botanical garden. And that’s not all, Shepreth has a tea room and a pub (between ownership at the time of writing), a big rec and playground.

The A10 gives great access to Cambridge (6 miles) and Royston (4 miles). There are primary schools at Barrington, Fowlmere and Meldreth and a secondary, plus lots of other facilities at the neighbouring, larger village of Melbourn. You’ve also got footpaths heading out of the village into the countryside, including one alongside the river and on to Barrington and a local 7 hectare nature reserve managed by the local Wildlife Trust.
