Spring is in the air

Spring is in the air, or at least it was for a few days this week. The daffodils are in bloom, the days are definitely getting longer and ever so slowly the days are getting warmer, notwithstanding the occasional unexpected baltic breeze.

Before I furnish you (well we are estate agents afterall) with insights about why it is good to sell at this time of the year, here is a interesting / pointless / abstract fact about spring with which you can have a fun quiz with your friends and family. Question - What speed does Spring travel north in the UK, Answer – 1.9 miles per hour.

I have recently written a piece about the potential advantages of selling your property when others do not, rather it really is about when the time is right for you. That said, if now is the right time, Springtime brings many positive factors. An obvious one being that if you have a garden, it will look better over the next few months, with colour, growth and vibrancy and a nicely manicured lawn will give something for potential buyers to visualise themselves in with a a hot cup of coffee or a cool glass of wine (white or Pinot Noir naturally).

The days are longer allowing more time to show people around your house and unless you hit April Showers, there is an increased chance of sunshine and lots of natural light. Curb appeal is stronger and serotonin is flying! For many buyers their activity and need to buy a new property can increase around now, particularly as many are planning to get their little ones into the local school. Timing is critical.

Yes there will be more properties coming to the market but this is where choosing the right agent, the one that makes you stand out from the rest is essential. And if you have seen some of our blogs highlighting our statistics and successes you will understand we are that agent. So in short there is never a bad time to sell and we should be your agent of choice ;–)

If you are thinking of selling please get in touch and arrange a valuation. If you are thinking of letting, give us a call so we can talk you through our process and how we are different.
