Back in May we hosted our first Landlords Evening at The Cass Centre in Cambridge. The event brought together a diverse group of landlords from across the region, including both existing clients and landlords who had not previously worked with us.
Over the course of the evening, Jamie Curtis provided an overview of current conditions within the Cambridge lettings market before Anna Logan delivered a detailed presentation on the forthcoming Renters’ Rights Act and the practical implications for landlords.
The discussion covered the key legislative changes, likely timelines and the impact these reforms may have on tenancy management, compliance and long-term investment decisions.
Perhaps most valuable was the open question-and-answer session that followed. It allowed landlords to discuss real-world scenarios, share experiences and gain clarity on issues that are often difficult to interpret from government announcements alone. They do not tend to make it simple!
What became apparent throughout the evening was the level of uncertainty many landlords are currently experiencing. Equally apparent was the value of bringing people together to discuss these changes openly and practically.
Our objective was simple: to ensure everyone left with a better understanding of both the Cambridge lettings market and the evolving legislative landscape than when they arrived.
Judging by the feedback we received, we achieved exactly that. Everyone seemed to learn something, not just from Jamie but from other landlords experiencing similar situations.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to what proved to be an informative and engaging evening. Given the positive response, we are planning to host another Landlords Evening in December and look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces.
